According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo and Peter Schrager on Friday (March 15), sources with knowledge of the issue stated that free agent quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the Los Angeles Rams.
“Sources close to me and @PSchrags: Jimmy Garoppolo, the quarterback for the #Rams, has reached a one-year contract agreement. Garoppolo is expected to join Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford in Los Angeles after a season with the #Raiders, the player announced on his X account.
Two days after Garoppolo was cut by the Las Vegas Raiders, the report is released. After benching Garoppolo halfway through the 2023 season, the Raiders were reportedly planning to let go of him this offseason. He was suspended two games for violating the NFL’s Performance Enhancing Substances Policy last month, but he won’t have to pay the guaranteed money that was agreed upon last offseason, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport at the time of his suspension announcement.
