Jeff Lynne Announces 2026 Worldwide Metal Tour – Dates and Cities Are Revealed…

In a surprise move that has sent both classic-rock loyalists and heavy-metal fans buzzing, Jeff Lynne has officially announced a 2026 Worldwide Metal Tour, marking one of the most unexpected stylistic pivots of his legendary career. Best known as the mastermind behind Electric Light Orchestra’s lush symphonic rock sound, Lynne is stepping into a new era—electrified, distorted, and heavier than ever.

According to Lynne, the idea for a metal-driven tour began during late-night jam sessions in 2024, when he found himself experimenting with darker tones, double-tracked guitars, and thunderous percussion. “I’ve always loved big, powerful soundscapes,” Lynne said in his announcement. “This time I just turned everything up… way up.” Fans can expect classic ELO melodies reimagined with aggressive riffs, deeper grooves, and a modern metal edge, alongside brand-new material crafted specifically for the tour.

The 2026 Worldwide Metal Tour will span five continents, launching in early March and running through late November. The production promises a massive visual overhaul, featuring industrial-inspired stage designs, expanded pyrotechnics, and a touring band stacked with metal-scene veterans. While Lynne’s unmistakable arrangements remain at the core, he has hinted at collaborations with several well-known metal guitarists and drummers who will join him at select stops.
