Megadeth have officially confirmed that their eagerly awaited 2026 world tour will coincide with what the band says is their final studio album — bringing an era to an epic close.

In the announcement, frontman Dave Mustaine shared that after more than four decades, the time has come to exit “on top.” He declared the upcoming LP — slated for release in early 2026 — will be Megadeth’s last, and that the tour will serve as a global farewell celebration of their legacy.

Details around the tour — including specific dates and cities — remain under wraps, but fans can expect announcements in the coming months.

The album will come via Mustaine’s Tradecraft imprint in collaboration with Frontiers Label Group’s BLKIIBLK label. Mustaine also teased a new memoir to follow in 2026.

This announcement closes the chapter on Megadeth as a recording and touring band — but sets the stage for one last global celebration of a legacy that reshaped metal music.
