Tyreek Hill, the Miami Dolphins’ star wide receiver, recently expressed frustration following the team’s failure to secure a playoff spot, marking the first time in his career he missed the postseason. After the season-ending loss to the New York Jets, Hill hinted at a potential departure, stating, “I’m out,” and changed his social media profile picture to reference Antonio Brown’s dramatic exit from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
However, Miami Dolphins general manager Chris Grier clarified that Hill did not formally request a trade. Grier stated, “Tyreek Hill did not ask for a trade when he and the wide receiver met recently.”
In the aftermath of his comments, Hill issued a public apology to quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, acknowledging that his initial remarks were made out of frustration. He expressed his desire to remain with the Dolphins, stating, “I want to stay in Miami for the upcoming season.”
Despite Hill’s expressed commitment to the Dolphins, speculation about his future continues. The Las Vegas Raiders have been mentioned as a potential destination for Hill, given their need for a dynamic wide receiver. However, any trade would involve significant financial considerations, as Hill is under contract through the 2026 season with a substantial cap hit.
As of now, Hill intends to remain with the Dolphins, and no official trade request has been made. The situation remains fluid, and any developments will depend on negotiations between Hill, the Dolphins, and potential suitors like the Raiders.
