Norwich City boss David Wagner indicates that Shane Duffy will be available to play in the Canaries play-off semi-final but to miss minded star..

Leeds United take on Norwich City this weekend in the playoff semi-final first leg, and the Canaries have a Shane Duffy concern after the centre-back was arrested this week, charged with driving under the influence.

The Whites have their own issues to concern themselves with ahead of Sunday’s playoff semi-final first leg, bottom of the form table in the final six games of the season.

However, Norwich City aren’t in the best shape either as they host Leeds at Carrow Road this Sunday, including their centre-back Shane Duffy.

Huge controversy emerged this week in the Norwich camp when it was revealed that key centre-back Shane Duffy had been arrested in Hethersett.

He was involved in a two-car collision, driving while unfit due to alcohol consumption, and has now been charged, confirmed by the BBC.

Having been arrested on Monday, it has now been revealed by Norwich boss David Wagner that the Republic of Ireland defender is expected play against Leeds (via BBC Norfolk):

Jonathan Rowe has been key to Norwich this season and he was an injury doubt for the match, but Adam Pope relayed Wagner’s comments that he has trained this week.

It’s bad news for striker Ashley Barnes, though, who will miss the first leg through injury:

Having Barnes’ experience would have been a key asset for the Canaries against us, but him being out forces a switch up front.

As for Duffy, it’s worrying that Wagner is happy to start a player that was arrested this week, but he is also important to them – having scored against Leeds at Carrow Road.
