Breaking: Sheffield United agreed to sign ‘awesome’ £75m forward amidst Oli McBurnie departure rumors…

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder is ready to kickstart his rebuild after relegation was confirmed and a £20m striker is reportedly on the radar.

With the futures of both Daniel Jebbison and Oli McBurnie in doubt, United know they need to strengthen the striking department next season to have any success.

As it stands, only Will Osula is contracted to the club in terms of strikers who have played this season.

Further, Benie Traore is likely to be sold after being cast out by Wilder immediately.

And according to a report from The Sun today, The Blades are eyeing a striker who has lit up the Championship this season in the form of Blackburn star, Sammie Szmodics.

According to the report from The Sun, Blackburn are looking to bring in a big fee for Szmodics after his amazing season at Ewood Park.

The 28-year-old has rattled in 31 goals so far and is apparently being looked at by United, Luton and Brentford ahead of the summer.

Of course, £20m might prove a problem for United, who are likely to need to wheel and deal over the summer despite Premier League money and parachute payments.

Szmodics has turned it on this season to have his best ever season and being proven at Championship level is something Chris Wilder will be keen to recruit.

The striker has been lauded by John Eustace this season, and drew high praise from his manager when producing a performance after becoming a Dad overnight.
