Ipswich Town midfielder Alfie Cutbush has confirmed his exit from the Championship side in order to pursue alternative avenues in his football career, via a social media post on his Twitter account. The 21-year-old is one of several players who are out of contract at Portman Road this summer and has opted to leave the football club in search of his next club. Posting an update on his exit on social media, Cutbush stated… “An end to 14 years at Ipswich Town. Some great moments and memories. Thanks to all the coaches and staff at the club.” The end of an era Cutbush had spent 14 years with the Tractor Boys but failed to establish himself within the first-team picture at Portman Road. Instead, the midfielder became a regular for the club’s youth sides, rising from U8s to the club’s U21s as well as spending time out on loan in the Non-League scene. As with most players at this time of year, the youngster has opted to depart the Championship side rather than sign a fresh contract at Portman Road. What is next for the Ipswich man? Now, Cutbush will become a free agent for the first time in his career and will begin the search for a new place to settle in and enjoy his football on a first-team level once again. The midfielder has experienced a first-team loan spell with Concord Rangers during the closing stages of the 2022/23 campaign and will likely be targeting a fresh Non-League move in the summer. Who else is out of contract? Ipswich Town have a number of players with expiring contracts this summer and with the club currently fighting for the automatic promotion places, fans could see a big clear out in the coming weeks. First-team players such as Kayden Jackson, Sone Aluko and Christian Walton are all out of contract in the coming weeks and the club have a big decision to make on a number of those individuals.
