JUST IN:Raiders Cannot Risk Losing on Their First-Round Selection.

Las Vegas Raiders GM Tom Telesco is tasked with having a successful draft for an organization that has had few of those over the last decade plus.

Over the past few seasons, the Las Vegas Raiders have not been fortunate with their first-round draft selections. The Raiders have mostly struggled when it comes to selecting in the first round, although having some success with their first-round selections. The majority of their productive first-round selections are no longer on the squad.

The Raiders have had difficulty choosing players with long-term careers with the organization, with the exception of Josh Jacobs in 2019 and Kolton Miller in 2017. Jacobs recently left in free agency. Khalil Mack was the Raiders’ finest first-round selection since 2012, aside from Miller and Jacobs.

Next would come Amari Cooper, a receiver selected fourth overall, though Cooper’s time with the team was unsatisfactory.

Tyree Wilson, the Raiders’ first-round draft pick from the previous season, is still up for debate after having a respectably successful rookie campaign.

It’s important to realize that the Raiders’ draft problems stem from organizational issues. The Raiders’ problems cannot be attributed to a single coach or executive. Over the past ten years, the Raiders have had several head coaches and general managers, but they continue to struggle to identify first-round picks who will stick with them for the long haul.

To exacerbate the situation, the Raiders have frequently selected players who do not succeed in the NFL, in addition to the fact that their successful draft choices seldom remain with them for an extended period of time.

The Raiders have a depleted offensive line and several other need-to-be-filled positions on the roster as they head into this year’s NFL Draft. They need to add an impact player to their roster once more, and they presently own the 13th pick in the draft. The Raiders have the option to select a top player from any position group they prioritize on draft day as the draft draws closer.

The Raiders cannot afford to select the incorrect player once more, regardless of who Las Vegas selects with their first-round selection. It is easy to see how many times the Raiders have blown their first-round pick when you pull up a list of their first-round selections.
