Los Angeles Rams Draft: Best Defensive Linemen Targets In All 7 Rounds.

The Los Angeles Rams have questionable defensive line depth even prior to the loss of Aaron Donald. According to Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic, Les Snead even went so far as to say, “I think what we will do is in the draft, every time we go to pick we will definitely look at the defensive linemen on the board — whether they are more our 4i, our nose tackle, or our three-tech.”

That provided a significant behind-the-scenes look at the Rams draft process. They will be searching from the first round to the last round to fill up the depth chart at defensive lineman, even if they are aware that they cannot replace Donald. They currently don’t have a legitimate starter on the roster outside of Kobie Turner.

First round: Texas’s Byron Murphy Murphy’s only dilemma is whether the Rams can acquire him at 19 or if they have to move up to acquire the extremely athletic 6’1″ and 308-pound player.

Murphy finished first among all FBS interior defensive lineman with a 19.6% pass-rush win rate in his first season as a starting player for the Longhorns. He also led the team with 45 pressures. He breaks off the line quickly to provide pressure, and he makes good use of his hands to move blocks aside and maintain his position. Murphy makes up for his small stature with determination and skill.

The other Texas D-lineman in the draft is T’vondre Sweat. He’s your guy if the Rams want to switch things up and go with a real big man in the center. 6’4″, 362 lbs. It will be difficult for opposing offenses to run inside running plays without taking his presence into consideration because they will have to commit resources to contain him.

Turner would be able to switch to a three-technique and move off the nose thanks to him. Ideally, the Rams would trade back to the late first round and choose him.

Round 2: Michigan’s Kris Jenkins: Jenkins, who is 6’2″ and 299 pounds, may be the second-most athletic DT selected in the draft, after Murphy. Jenkins is a dedicated worker who leads the Michigan Wolverines and has a never-ending motor, but he won’t be a one-man wrecking crew.

Round 3:

Turner would be able to switch to a three-technique and move off the nose thanks to him. Ideally, the Rams would trade back to the late first round and choose him.
