Another former Penn State standout is heading to Philadelphia. PJ Mustipher, an All-Big Ten defensive tackle with the Nittany Lions, has signed a one-year deal with the Eagles as a free agent, the franchise announced Tuesday evening.

“Seeing what the Eagles have been able to accomplish over the past few years has been nothing short of amazing,” Mustipher said in a press release. “There is a lot of talent on this roster and along the defensive line, so there was nothing better for my career moving forward than being a part of this organization.”

This will be Mustipher’s third team in the NFL. The former Nittany Lion, after going unselected in the 2023 draft, signed as a free agent with the Denver Broncos. Mustipher was then signed off Denver’s practice squad to the New Orleans Saints’ active roster last December.2024 NFL Free Agency: Eagles sign PJ Mustipher to a 1-year deal

Mustipher, a Maryland native, signed as a four-star prospect in the 2018 recruiting class, coming out of the McDonogh School (Md.). He played five seasons with the Nittany Lions from 2018-22, racking up 145 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and three sacks.
Mustipher was a team captain in 2021 and 2022 and was named a first-team All-Big Ten selection by the Associated Press in 2021 and a second-team honoree in 2022.
Mustipher is the second former Penn State player to sign with the Eagles in the last week. Star running back Saquon Barkley inked a lucrative three-year deal.
“Seeing familiar faces is going to make my transition much easier,” Mustipher said. “Being back in Pennsylvania, where I went to school for five years, is something I am looking forward to.”
