DONE DEAL: Former Rams key star landing in Seahawks for one contract free agent…..

Former Rams guard to sign with Seahawks.

The Seattle Seahawks impressed and surprised people by making the playoffs in the 2022 season after trading away franchise quarterback Russell Wilson, but they regressed a bit in 2023 when they missed the playoffs.

One thing they had to improve was their offensive line, and on Monday, they took a step toward doing so by signing guard Tremayne Anchrum, per Adam Schefter.

Anchrum has spent four seasons in the NFL, all of them with the Los Angeles Rams, and he was a member of their Super Bowl-winning team in 2021.

The following season, he was one of several Rams players to be hit by the injury bug when a fractured fibula limited him to just two games.

The Seahawks haven’t made any big moves this offseason per se — they did trade for former Washington Commanders starting quarterback Sam Howell, but he will not challenge Geno Smith for the starting job, at least according to GM John Schneider.

They lost future Hall of Fame linebacker Bobby Wagner to the Commanders, and even at age 33, he seems to have plenty of game left, as he led the NFL in total tackles in 2023 with 183.

Seattle is hoping new signings Tyrel Dodson and Jerome Baker will fill the void created by Wagner’s departure at inside linebacker.

The NFC should be a little deeper in 2024, which will make Seattle’s quest to return to the playoffs a little more challenging, but they should have the talent to at least have a shot.
