Coach Kim Caldwell Donates Entire $100 Million NACC Bonus to Texas Flood Relief and Female Scholarships at University of Tennessean
In an extraordinary act of generosity and leadership, University of Tennessee head coach Kim Caldwell has pledged her entire $100 million NACC bonus to support flood relief efforts in Texas and to empower the next generation of female leaders through education.
Following the devastating floods that recently swept across large portions of Texas, leaving communities in ruin and thousands displaced, Coach Caldwell stepped forward with a powerful gesture of compassion. Her entire bonus, earned through her team’s championship performance in the National Association of Collegiate Coaches (NACC), will go directly toward rebuilding efforts, emergency aid, and long-term support for affected families.
“This is bigger than basketball,” Caldwell said in a statement. “We celebrate wins on the court, but the real victory is using our platform to bring hope and change where it’s needed most.”
In addition to the flood relief donation, Caldwell has also announced the creation of a new scholarship initiative: ten full scholarships for young women to attend the University of Tennessee and become part of the Lady Volunteers program. These scholarships aim to support talented female students from underrepresented or disaster-stricken communities, covering tuition, housing, and related expenses.
“These scholarships are about giving young women the opportunity to dream big and achieve more,” Caldwell said. “We want to open doors for future leaders, especially those facing the toughest challenges.”
Coach Caldwell’s actions have inspired widespread praise from athletes, students, and civic leaders across the country. Her selfless decision to reinvest her personal success into communities in crisis is being hailed as one of the most generous acts by a coach in collegiate sports history.
Her leadership—both on and off the court—has set a powerful example for the sports world and beyond.
