Transfer news LIVE! Arsenal get Coman boost; Liverpool want Leao; Chelsea rival Spurs for £83m winger…
The summer transfer window is heating up, with Premier League clubs intensifying their pursuit of top talents. Here’s the latest on Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea’s transfer activities:
Arsenal Eye Kingsley Coman
Arsenal are reportedly targeting Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman to bolster their attack. Bayern Munich are open to allowing Coman to leave on loan this summer. The 28-year-old, who has been linked with a move to Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham, has three years left on his contract but his future is hanging in the balance after struggling for game time last season. Coman made just 27 appearances in all competitions during the 2023/24 season and featured just twice in their last 15 Bundesliga matches due to injury and fitness issues. He missed seven weeks due to a medial ligament tear before sitting out another six weeks after suffering an adductor problem. There is no doubt injuries ravaged his season, although he did return for France at Euro 2024. Coman was named in Didier Deschamps’ squad for the tournament, but played just 15 minutes of football. And that came in one match; the 0-0 draw against Netherlands, with Coman an unused substitute for their other five games,
Arsenal have been offered Randal Kolo Muani and Kingsley Coman – but are unsure either represent good value on current costings
Arsenal have been handed a significant boost in their pursuit of Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman, with the German club reportedly willing to accept a much lower transfer fee than initially expected. The 28-year-old Frenchman has been with Bayern since 2015, first joining on loan from Juventus before making the move permanent two years later. Over nearly a decade in Munich, Coman has won eight Bundesliga titles and played a crucial role in their 2020 Champions League triumph. Despite his impressive record, Coman has struggled for consistent game time this season. He has made 22 Bundesliga appearances but started only 11 of those matches. In the Champions League, he has featured eight times under Vincent Kompany but has been named in the starting XI on just three occasions. With his reduced role, Bayern are now open to selling the winger and, according to Bild, have significantly lowered their asking price. Last summer, Coman was valued at around £58m, but the Bundesliga giants are now willing to accept as little as £29m for his services.
Liverpool Pursue Rafael Leão
Liverpool are reportedly considering a move for AC Milan winger Rafael Leão as they prepare for possible changes in their attacking lineup this summer. According to TEAMtalk, the Italian club is open to selling Leão for around €100 million, despite his €175 million release clause. With Barcelona expressing interest in Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez’s future at Anfield uncertain, the Reds could look to Leão as a marquee addition. Mohamed Salah’s contract situation also adds to the uncertainty, having under four months left on his current contract, making an attacking reshuffle a real possibility for Arne Slot’s side. Barcelona have already approached Milan regarding a summer transfer for Leão, but their ongoing financial struggles could complicate any potential deal. The La Liga giants are also considering alternative targets, including Diaz and Sporting CP’s Geovany Quenda, while PSG have reportedly shifted their focus to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia instead of Leão.
Chelsea Compete with Spurs for £83m Jamie Gittens
Chelsea are reportedly interested in Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens, who has been attracting attention from several top clubs. Despite Dortmund rejecting a €50 million offer from Chelsea for Gittens, the Blues remain keen on the 20-year-old talent. Gittens has agreed to personal terms with Chelsea, but the deal is still pending. Tottenham Hotspur are also in the mix, aiming to bolster their attacking options. Dortmund are resigned to losing Gittens this summer, with Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Tottenham all expressing interest.
As the transfer window progresses, expect more developments in these high-profile pursuits. Clubs are keen to strengthen their squads ahead of the new season, and these potential signings could significantly impact the Premier League landscape.
