LONDON, UK — June 9, 2025 — Legendary British rock band Deep Purple has officially announced the release of a remixed and expanded anniversary reissue of one of their most underrated albums, Slaves and Masters, set to arrive later this month. The reissue will celebrate 35 years since the original release in 1990 and will be available on June 28, 2025, via Warner Records and the band’s own label imprint, Purple Records.

Often considered a hidden gem in the band’s vast discography, Slaves and Masters marked a unique chapter in Deep Purple’s history. It was the only album to feature former Rainbow frontman Joe Lynn Turner on vocals, uniting him once again with guitarist Ritchie Blackmore and keyboardist Jon Lord. Though it received mixed reviews at the time, the album has since developed a cult following for its melodic hard rock sound and strong songwriting.

The 35th anniversary edition will be available in multiple formats, including a deluxe 2CD set, 2LP vinyl, digital streaming, and a limited-edition box set. The first disc features a brand-new remix of the original album by acclaimed producer Kevin Shirley (Iron Maiden, Rush), bringing fresh sonic clarity and depth to the classic tracks such as “King of Dreams,” “Love Conquers All,” and “The Cut Runs Deep.”

The second disc includes a trove of rare and previously unreleased material, including demo versions, alternate takes, live recordings from the 1991 tour, and insightful liner notes penned by rock historian Malcolm Dome. A newly restored music video for “King of Dreams” will also premiere alongside the reissue.

In a joint statement, the band said:
“Slaves and Masters was a pivotal moment for Deep Purple. It was a different sound, a different energy—and it deserves to be heard with new ears. We’re proud to give it the reissue treatment it always deserved.”

Pre-orders are available now through the band’s official website and major music retailers. The limited-edition box set will include exclusive memorabilia, including replica tour passes, an art print, and a 32-page booklet featuring rare photos and in-depth interviews with the band.

Deep Purple’s reissue of Slaves and Masters is more than just a look back—it’s a powerful reminder of the band’s enduring creativity and sonic evolution.
