
Ritchie Blackmore and Candice Night, the celebrated duo behind Blackmore’s Night, were inducted into the Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame (LIMEHOF) on May 13, 2025, during a special ceremony in Stony Brook, New York. The event also marked the release of Candice Night’s solo album, Sea Glass. While Blackmore was unable to attend, Night accepted the honor on behalf of the duo.
Candice Night, a native of Hauppauge, Long Island, began her career in the entertainment industry at a young age, modeling and later hosting a radio show on Long Island’s WBAB. Her musical journey took a significant turn when she met Ritchie Blackmore in 1989. Their collaboration evolved into Blackmore’s Night in 1997, blending Renaissance-inspired music with rock elements. The band’s debut album, Shadow of the Moon, featured Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull and set the tone for their unique sound.
The Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame, established in 2005, honors individuals who have made significant contributions to the music and entertainment industries, particularly those with ties to Long Island. Inductees are selected based on their impact and connection to the region.
During the induction ceremony, Candice Night performed selections from her new album, including “Unsung Hero” and “Promise Me,” the latter featuring her daughter. In her acceptance speech, Night expressed deep gratitude for the recognition, highlighting the inspiration she draws from Long Island’s natural beauty and energy
