Lenny Kravitz Announces 13th Studio Album Release Date, Celebrates Decades of Rock Legacy
June 7, 2025 – Los Angeles, CA – American rock icon Lenny Kravitz has officially announced the release date for his much-anticipated 13th studio album, marking another milestone in a remarkable career that has spanned over three decades. Titled “Blue Electric Light,”the new album is set to drop on September 27, 2025, via Roxie Records and BMG, bringing with it a fresh wave of soulful rock, funk-infused grooves, and the signature vintage sound fans have come to love.
The announcement was made during a live-streamed event on Kravitz’s official social media platforms, where he gave fans a sneak peek of the album’s artwork and a teaser of the first single, “Heaven’s Fire.” The single will premiere worldwide on July 12, offering a taste of what promises to be one of his most personal and politically charged records to date.
Kravitz, known for his eclectic fusion of rock, soul, funk, and blues, has maintained a consistent presence in the music industry since the release of his debut album Let Love Rule in 1989. Over the years, he has amassed a formidable discography that includes:
12 studio albums, including acclaimed releases like Are You Gonna Go My Way(1993), 5(1998), and Strut (2014).
One greatest hits compilation, Greatest Hits (2000), which featured chart-topping singles such as “Fly Away” and “Again.”
Four box set compilation albums, showcasing rare recordings, remixes, and live performances from throughout his career.
Two extended plays (EPs), offering fans exclusive tracks and live versions not found on his full-length albums.
Kravitz’s music has earned him multiple accolades, including four consecutive Grammy Awards for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance from 1999 to 2002. He has sold over 40 million records worldwide and remains one of the most influential figures in modern rock music.
During the announcement, Kravitz reflected on the journey that led to the new album. “Blue Electric Light is a celebration of rebirth, of fire reignited,” he said. “I’ve been through a lot in the last few years, like everyone, and I poured all that emotion, that experience, into this album. It’s raw, it’s real, and it’s me at this moment in time.”
The album was written and recorded primarily in Kravitz’s home studio in the Bahamas, a place he has often cited as his creative sanctuary. Collaborators on the album reportedly include longtime guitarist Craig Ross, bassist Gail Ann Dorsey, and a guest appearance by the legendary Stevie Wonder on harmonica.
In conjunction with the album release, Kravitz will embark on the Blue Electric Light World Tour beginning in October 2025, starting in London and covering major cities across Europe, North America, and South America. U.S. tour dates are expected to be announced later this summer.
Fans can pre-order Blue Electric Light starting June 14 through Kravitz’s official website, with limited edition vinyl and deluxe bundles available. Early pre-orders will include access to exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from the album’s recording sessions and early access to tour tickets.
With Blue Electric Light, Lenny Kravitz reaffirms his place as a vital force in rock music—an artist unafraid to evolve while staying true to the sound and spirit that first made him a global sensation. As he prepares to turn the page to a new chapter, one thing is certain: the light is still burning bright.
