Newcastle united assistant manager Jason Tindall has agreed to join Derby County on Permanent deal as Team Head coach after his Successful role at st James park…

Derby County have confirmed the appointment of Jason Tindall as their new head coach on a permanent deal, marking a significant step forward for the club’s long-term vision. Tindall, who had been serving as Newcastle United’s assistant manager under Eddie Howe, will take charge at Pride Park ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The 47-year-old coach played a vital role in Newcastle’s recent resurgence, working closely with Howe to transform the Magpies into a competitive Premier League side. His move to Derby signals a new chapter in his career—his first solo role as head coach since managing AFC Bournemouth in the Championship during the 2020/21 season.

Tindall leaves St James’ Park with praise and gratitude from both players and staff. Having been instrumental in shaping Newcastle’s tactical setup, particularly during their return to European football in 2023, he departs with a growing reputation as one of the most respected assistants in the English game.

“I’ve had a fantastic journey with Newcastle United and I’ll always be grateful for the opportunities and memories created there,” said Tindall in his first statement as Derby head coach. “But I’m ready for this new challenge. Derby County is a club with a rich history and passionate fanbase, and I’m excited to help lead them into a bright future.”

Derby County, who recently secured promotion back to the Championship after several turbulent years both on and off the pitch, view Tindall’s arrival as a pivotal moment. The board is said to be impressed with his modern approach to coaching, man-management skills, and ability to develop young players—qualities seen as essential in building a sustainable, long-term project at the club.

Club CEO Stephen Pearce spoke highly of Tindall’s appointment: “Jason is a coach with Premier League experience and a clear vision for how he wants to play. His time with Eddie Howe at Bournemouth and Newcastle has shaped him into one of the most forward-thinking minds in English football. We’re thrilled to bring him in as we embark on our next chapter.”

While Tindall’s appointment marks a departure from Newcastle, Eddie Howe is expected to remain at the helm with a reshuffling of his backroom staff likely to follow. The pair had worked side by side for over a decade, making Tindall’s exit both a personal and professional turning point.

Derby supporters will be eager to see how Tindall translates his Premier League experience to Championship success, as the Rams aim to climb back toward England’s top tier.
